Under the ‘Pillar of Education’, Essar Bulk Terminal Hazira recently organised various kinds of educational programmes for students of the rural schools in Haziraa. EBTL Hazira, in association with South Gujarat Consumer Protection, Education & Research Center – Surat, observed National Consumer Rights Day by organising a consumer protection awareness programme “Consumer-Know Your Rights” for 250 students belonging to the school Navchetan Vidhyalaya, Junagam, along with their parents. The “Jago Grahak Jago” awareness programme was addressed by Ms. Sobhnaben Chhapia, Mentor from the South Gujarat Consumer Protection & Research Center- Surat, educating the students and their families on the various aspects of consumer protection such as – facts, consumer rights, the right to consumer education, the right to be informed, grievance redressal right, right to representation, be sure to receive the bill and related literature at the time of purchase etc.. Apart from sharing knowledge, this programme also created a sense of community as a reminder to listen to your consumer rights.
