Cutting-edge 50 MTPA all-weather bulk terminal at strategic Hazira location, enhancing connectivity to northern and central india

Strategically located at the mouth of the Tapi estuary along the western side of the Hazira Peninsula in the Gulf of Khambat (Magdala port of the Gujarat Maritime Board), Essar developed the 50MTPA all weather, deep draft bulk terminal. It is one of the closest ports to the land-locked northern and central Indian regions. The Hazira terminal operated six deep draft berths with a total quay length of 1,650m. The connection with a ~7km navigation channel enabled the direct berthing of deep draft vessels. Marked by beacons and buoys, the channel has a bottom-width of 300m and a turning radius of 600m along the berth. The facility integrated with a 10 MTPA steel plant and was divested to AMNS India in 2022.
