Essar is a committed corporate citizen. According to its philosophy of putting people before profit, it has transformed every region where it has business operations.
We have gone beyond planting trees and creating infrastructure for our local communities. We have provided them with direct and indirect employment and facilitated self-help schemes for women empowerment, livelihood, education, and healthcare.
We firmly believe in delivering value through our people while making a great company. Our spirited involvement in community service is inspired by these beliefs.
Essar is a people-driven and people-centric organisation. Our ethos on corporate social responsibility focuses on enabling and enriching communities located near our operations.
We are at the forefront of providing aid and assistance through donations and relief supplies during national calamities such as tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, plagues, and COVID-19. Significant contributions have been made to the Prime Minister's and Chief Minister's relief funds in the past to alleviate suffering and help rehabilitation.
As a socially responsible corporate, Essar Ports has pledged to make a meaningful contribution towards augmenting administrative efforts to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak in India. In partnership with Essar Foundation, we launched ‘Essar Cares’, an initiative aimed at providing medical supplies and alleviating hunger across a cross-section of the population.
Our focus has been on extending a helping hand to some of the most marginalised communities, as well as to the people working on the frontlines, namely the healthcare and law enforcement personnel. Our community outreach efforts have encompassed the following: Essar Meal Project, Essar Health Project, Essar Rainbow Project, Essar Covid-19 Relief Fund and Sahej Project.
The underlying objectives of Essar's activities are to motivate employees to participate in and contribute to the activities that create an ecosystem for the development of the areas where we operate in.
